WASHINGTON (WMAL) – It took crews just about an hour to discover that a white, powdery substance found inside the World Wildlife Fund headquarters building was not hazardous.
DC Police say they were called when that substance was discovered somewhere inside the building. This happened just after 11 this morning.
Former President Barack Obama also leases space out of there.
A DC Fire spokesperson says one person was exposed to the substance. That person was looked at but declined treatment.
Police say hazardous materials crews were able to determine that the substance was not dangerous but have not identified what it was.
This comes one day after President Trump’s daughter-in-law, Vanessa Trump, opened up a letter that contained a white, powdery substance in New York City.
That was also ruled not hazardous but she went to the hospital as a precaution.
It is not clear if these incidents are related.
