Man Stabbed On Bus In Washington As Argument Escalates

WASHINGTON — Metro officials say an argument between passengers on a Metrobus escalated into a stabbing.

Metro spokesman Richard L. Jordan tells news outlets the stabbing occurred on the A4 route in southwest D.C. on Sunday afternoon. Jordan says the victim was stabbed in the back and hospitalized with injuries deemed to be non-life-threatening.

Jordan says the assailant got off the bus and fled. Police have released surveillance footage in an attempt to identify the suspect.

It’s unclear whether the suspect and victim knew each other prior to the altercation.

The Metropolitan Police Department and Metro Transit police both responded to the scene.
