Listen as Larry spoke with Congressman Louie Gohmert regarding the FISA memo, issues with Robert Mueller heading the investigation and more.
During the interview, Congressman Gohmert expressed his concern about a FISA judge:
Gohmert: I’m telling you Larry, the more I’ve seen, the more abundantly clear it is… The FISA court is not a protection for the American people. They rubber stamp … And you know when WikiLeaks released an affidavit and a motion to get Verizon’s, all their data on every phone call out…
O’Connor: I remember that.
Gohmert: They are supposed to describe with particularity the specific thing being sought and limited to that. And here you have a motion just saying, ‘we need every stinking phone number, every number that’s been caught, everything you’ve got’. And the judge said, ‘Oh okay, here it is’ and signs away. I’m telling you though right now, with the things that have come out publicly one thing that is very clear we have at least one FISA judge that is either brain dead or he is part of the collusion that’s been going on during the Obama administration because their ought to be heads rolling, there really should be heads rolling.
Gohmert continued saying:
Gohmert: One other thing Larry, I am so grateful that President Trump didn’t cave in and grant amnesty because I have a feeling somewhere in the amnesty would have been a provision giving amnesty to the ones that really need it and that’s the Obama justice department and the top people in the administration.
O’Connor also asked Congressman Gohmert regarding Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation:
O’Connor: Congressman Gohmert, has it reached the point where we need to have a special counsel to investigate this?
Gohmert: Well actually Larry, it’s interesting you ask me that because back in June, after Mueller was appointed and after I made my sentiments known about Mueller he is a problem, he has been a problem, he did more damage to the FBI than anybody since Hoover in hist later years, maybe worse than Hoover. He destroyed people’s lives like over the anthrax, he is vengeful, he is spiteful, he is the last guy in the world that we needed in this special counsel. And since Comey had already admitted that he leaked information there were already indications that there were problems in the Mueller team, I told President Trump back in mid-June, “You need to appoint a special counsel now, a second special counsel”. And he said, “can I do that”. And I said, “Yeah, the power that the attorney general or the deputy attorney general have to appoint special counsel actually comes by and through you”. “The only way they have the power is because you have the power and they work for you. So you have the power to do that.” And I told him, “You can’t fire Mueller because the Democrats are just waiting for that so hey can screen Saturday Night Massacre, like in the Nixon administration”. But Mueller needs to be investigated now Larry. It’s very clear his whole team needs to be investigated certainly Strzok, Lisa Page, all these people in the FBI and so it is very clear, it is the law, it is the regulation, Mueller cannot investigate his own team and if he had any sense of decency whatsoever he would never had accepted this appointment because of his work as the head of the FBI when they were investigating Russia and their efforts to get the corner on uranium. He was up to his eyes and ears in this stuff and he was disqualified the only trouble is, he didn’t admit it. Really, we needed a second special counsel since the day he was appointed.
[…]
Larry, now that his home team is just… they are so deeply in the collusion against the Trump administration, they all should be fired but Trump can’t do that without people going nuts but they’ve all got to be investigated. How deep can this conspiracy go?
Lastly, Gohmert shared his thoughts on Lindsey Graham and Jeff Flake’s efforts on the immigration proposal:
O’Connor: Why is Lindsey Graham and Jeff Flake spear-heading the Republican effort in the Senate, Congressman Gohmert? Shouldn’t they be dismissed at this point, they clearly don’t have the President’s interest?
Gohmert: No, they are so blinded with their feelings against the President. I like them on a personal level okay, and in fact Jeff use to be a good friend, but they need to go ahead and step aside, this has become too personal.
