6am – A/B/C Meghan McCain Wonders Why Ana Navarro Is Still A Republican.

Meghan McCain, conservative cohost of “The View,” trashed CNN contributor Ana Navarro for constantly being at odds with other Republicans on Monday. “It’s difficult for me to understand sometimes why you still consider yourself a Republican,” McCain said to Navarro as the panel debated the politics of the government shutdown. While the rest of the panel tried to place the blame for the shutdown on Republicans, McCain argued that the Democrats caused it by trying to attach DACA to a spending bill. “Plain party politics,” she said. “There’s another month to figure out DACA — they’re attaching it to a spending bill.” “I understand that DACA is a very emotional issue at this point but most Republicans are on my side on this one, Ana, and it’s difficult for me to understand sometimes why you still consider yourself a Republican,” McCain said. Navarro seemed to think that McCain was against DACA entirely and not just the idea of attaching it to a spending bill.

“I wasn’t a Trump supporter. I am now. (Washington Post / By Mollie Ziegler Hemingway) — Mollie Ziegler Hemingway is a senior editor at the Federalist. This may seem like an odd moment for saying so, but a year into the presidency of Donald Trump, I’m elated. Trump was not my first or even second choice for president, but a full two years ago I predicted he would win. I also predicted he’d be a progressive president, which explained why I was not among his supporters and why I am so pleased now.

6am – D         CONSERVATIVE MEDIA BIAS?

  • Joy Reid: There is nothing so predictable as media spin in favor of Republicans.
  • S.E. Cupp Rips Neera Tanden For Complaining the NYT Isn’t Friendly to the Left: ‘Is That a G-D Joke?!’

6am – E         Did NBC dump Bob Costas from Super Bowl for concussion talk? Bob Costas had circled Feb. 4 as his NFL broadcasting send-off, revealing last February Super Bowl LII would be the last one he’d host on NBC. On Monday, Costas’ name was nowhere to be found on the network’s press release announcing its on-air and studio teams for the game between the Patriots and Eagles. NBC named Dan Patrick and Liam McHugh hosts of the Super Bowl pregame show, which also will include “Football Night in America” mainstays Tony Dungy, Rodney Harrison, Mike Florio and Chris Simms. The scheduling decision comes as a surprise after Costas, NBC’s prime-time host for every Olympics on the network since 1992, conceded a year ago he was turning Olympics duties over to Mike Tirico but had one more Super Bowl in him before assuming a lesser role with NBC. The 65-year-old has hosted six Super Bowls throughout his career. “I’ve been lucky to have such a long and enjoyable run,” Costas told USA Today at the time. “So I just thought, better to leave before they ask me to leave.”

6am – F         Maryland Governor Unveils $5 Billion Package to Woo Amazon. ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) – Maryland’s governor is trying to land Amazon’s second headquarters by offering a $5 billion package of tax incentives and transportation upgrades. Gov. Larry Hogan said in a statement Monday that the state is “committing all of the resources we have to bring it home to Maryland.” Montgomery County, Maryland, is one of 20 cities and regions that made the online retail giant’s shortlist. Hogan’s proposal includes state income and property tax credits as well as tax exemptions.

7am – A         INTERVIEW – BYRON YORK – chief political correspondent for the Washington Examiner – discussed the shutdown deal and FBI texts.

7am – B         On Monday, MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” aired a montage of images from the weekend’s women’s marches to the latest effort from host Joe Scarborough’s song “Stand”

7am – C         MEGYN KELLY HITS BACK AT JANE FONDA: “For years [Fonda] has spoke about the joy of giving a cultural face to older women,” Kelly said. “The truth is, most older women look nothing like Fonda, who is now 80. And if Fonda really wants to have an honest discussion about older women’s cultural face, then her plastic surgery is tough to ignore.”

7am – D/E     INTERVIEW — TOM FITTON – President of Judicial Watch – discussed the FBI texts and the memo.

  • More than 50,000 texts exchanged between FBI officials Strzok and Page, Sessions says. AG Sessions “We will leave no stone unturned to confirm with certainty why these text messages are not now available to be produced and will use every technology available to determine whether the missing messages are recoverable from another source”

8am – A         INTERVIEW – LARRY KUDLOW – CNBC Senior Contributor and host of The Larry Kudlow Show on WMAL Saturdays at 7 pm and author of “JFK and the Reagan Revolution: A Secret History of American Prosperity” @larry_kudlow – shared his thoughts on shutdown deal and solar panel tariffs.

  • Shutdown ends after Democrats agree to trust that McConnell will allow ‘dreamer’ vote
  • TRUMP: Big win for Republicans as Democrats cave on Shutdown. Now I want a big win for everyone, including Republicans, Democrats and DACA, but especially for our Great Military and Border Security. Should be able to get there. See you at the negotiating table!
  • There’s a Surprise in the Government Funding Bill: More Tax Cuts. The deal struck by Democrats and Republicans on Monday to end a brief government shutdown contains $31 billion in tax cuts, including a temporary delay in implementing three health care-related taxes.
  • TARIFFS: Trump approves 4 years of tariffs on solar panels. President Donald Trump dealt his biggest blow to the renewable energy industry yet. On Monday, Trump approved duties of as much as 30 percent on solar equipment made outside the U.S., a move that threatens to handicap a $28 billion industry that relies on parts made abroad for 80 percent of its supply.

8am – B         #SCHUMERSELLOUT:

  • #SchumerSellout: Liberals livid after deal to end shutdown
  • Left says Dems caved on shutdown
  • Immigration activist: This is all bullshit. Don’t believe a single word coming out of a Democrat right now. They are liars.
  • Debbie Wasserman Schultz: This Shutdown Gave Us, Um … The “Potential For Momentum”
  • Gutierrez: Senate Dems ‘Caved’ on Govt. Shutdown Deal Because ‘That’s What They Do’
  • TRUMP: Big win for Republicans as Democrats cave on Shutdown. Now I want a big win for everyone, including Republicans, Democrats and DACA, but especially for our Great Military and Border Security. Should be able to get there. See you at the negotiating table!
  • Vince Coglianese ‏@TheDCVince Wait. How can Sen. Schumer simply decide to reopen the government? I thought the GOP controlled the White House and both houses of Congress.

8am – C         Hawaii governor took long to post on Twitter about missile alert because he forgot username, password. Gov. David Ige says he and his team took so long to post a message to social media about the recent missile alert being a false alarm because he didn’t know his Twitter username and password. Ige told reporters Monday he’s since put his username and password into his cellphone. He says he can now use social media without waiting for his staff. The governor was asked why his Twitter account relayed a Hawaii Emergency Management Agency tweet about the false alarm at 8:24 a.m. on Jan. 13 even though Ige learned about the mistake 15 minutes earlier at 8:09 a.m. A Hawaii GOP gubernatorial candidate labeled Ige “Doomsday David” and called on him to resign over the state’s recent false alarm fiasco. Republican John Carroll said this week that the public lost faith in Ige because of an erroneous missile alert Jan. 13 that had Hawaii residents fearing for their lives for nearly 40 minutes. “Doomsday David Ige has got to go now,” Carroll said, according to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.

8am – D         INTERVIEW – MD GOVERNOR LARRY HOGAN

  • Maryland Governor Unveils $5 Billion Package to Woo Amazon. (Baltimore Sun) — The Republican governor used inventive grammar in giving his proposed legislation a name that evokes Amazon’s brand: the “Promoting ext-Raordinary Innovation in Maryland’s Economy Act of 2018,” or PRIME Act.  It promises $10 million a year for 15 years out of the state’s Sunny Day fund to a Fortune 100 company that creates at least 40,000 jobs that pay an average of $100,000 a year. It also promises state and local property tax credits, a state sales tax exemption for construction materials, and a 10-year, annual tax credit equivalent 5.75 percent of the salaries of each job created. Together, the administration said, the cash and tax credits amount to more than $3 billion. The benefits could technically apply to any company that qualified, though the package is tailored to what Amazon said it would provide for HQ2.
  • MARYLAND GOVERNOR RACE: Hogan and Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford (R) raised $5.4 million in the last year and have accumulated a $9 million war chest
  • Last week the governor signed on to Maryland’s redistricting case currently before the Supreme Court:  Governor Larry Hogan once again called for nonpartisan redistricting reform in Maryland today, and vowed to file legislation to achieve this important bipartisan goal. He also announced that he will join an amicus brief being filed with the United States Supreme Court in support of the plaintiffs in Benisek v. Lamone, a case involving Maryland’s gerrymandered 6th Congressional District. “Free and fair elections are the very foundation of American democracy and the most basic promise that those in power can pledge to citizens,” said Governor Hogan.
