WASHINGTON (WMAL) — Police are searching Francis C. Hammond Middle School in Alexandria in response to a threat made on social media.

Alexandria City Public Schools has tweeted that all the students have been evacuated.
APD is investigating a threat to Francis C Hammond Middle School, 4646 Seminary Road. The students have been evacuated. Expect police activity in the area.

They added on their website that students will have school lunch at T.C. Williams High School, where they were evacuated to and that they are hoping to get students back to the middle school by the end of the school day.
