WASHINGTON (WMAL) – Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan warned Eastern Shore residents that a state of emergency’s in effect, and it’s dangerous on the roads.
“It’s a very deceiving storm. People say it looks not that bad. It’s not that much snow, and then the road looks clear, and it’s icy,” Hogan said during a Thursday afternoon press conference in Ocean City.
Crews are out clearing the roads, but then Mother Natures’ undoing their work as wind drifts blow snow back on them.
The Maryland State Highway Administration sent resources that were in the D.C. metro area this morning to the Eastern Shore.
State Highway Administrator Greg Slater said they have full operations across the state and will have 24/7 operations for the next 48 hours.
The National Guard is on standby.
