WASHINGTON (WMAL) — The threat of a light snow in the DC Metro Area caused the National Weather Service to release a special statement about potentially hazardous road conditions tomorrow morning.

Brian Lasorsa, meteorologist at the National Weather Service said that there is only 30-40% chance of snow tomorrow morning, but because of how cold it’s been, it could cause problems.

“Unfortunately it’s been so cold that if we do get that light snow, it could cause some pretty hazardous conditions, even though it’s not that much snow,” said Lasorsa.

The forecast calls for a possibility of less than an inch of snow coming in between 4 and 10 am, but the National Weather Service is telling people to be prepared to leave extra time for travel Wednesday morning.

Lasorsa warned, “If that threat does materialize that could lead to slippery and icy roads and that could cause dangerous travel conditions during the morning commute.”
