Hell freezes over: Media start admitting that Trump’s first year isn’t a flop (Fox News)

‘MediaBuzz’ host Howard Kurtz weighs in on why the media is starting to admit that Trump’s first year isn’t a flop.

I have sensed for weeks now that some in the media were on the verge of rolling out a contrary take on President Trump’s first year in office.

And in the wake of yesterday’s final passage of massive tax cuts, that moment has arrived.

The dominant media narrative, of course, is that Trump hasn’t gotten much done, that he’s in over his head, that he doesn’t understand government, that he keeps picking petty fights rather than winning big battles. [Read More]

SLOW IPHONE? APPLE ADMITS TO SUCKING SPEED FROM IPHONE 6S AND IPHONE 7 (Newsweek)

The question ‘why is my iPhone slow?’ has more than 94 million search results in Google, demonstrating the widespread frustrations of anyone who has ever owned an older iPhone. Now, after years of speculation, Apple has officially revealed that slowing old iPhones is a deliberate “feature.”

The issue recently gained attention after a Reddit user investigated why his iPhone 6s was so slow, even after multiple updates. After some research the user, who goes by the name TeckFire, decided to replace the iPhone’s battery.

TeckFire concluded : “From what I can tell, Apple slows down phones when their battery gets too low, so you can still have a full day’s charge. This also means your phone might be very slow for no discernible reason.” [Read More]

The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas toy for kids, or a mind game for adults? (The Washington Post)

Earlier this month in Orlando, possessed by either a rush of Christmas spirit or a sixth sense that supernatural forces were afoot, a German shepherd named Zoey plucked an Elf on the Shelf named Sam from its perch and ripped off his arm.

Aubrie, the 7-year-old human of the residence, woke her mother with a horrified scream. Jenn Thelen immediately realized the peril of the situation.

“I had to pick Sam up with a blanket,” says Thelen, because Elves on the Shelves — foot-tall plush beings sent by Santa Claus to observe American children in the month before Christmas — can’t be touched by mortals.

While Celebrities Slam Trump, Jobs Grow Across America (The Federalist)

U.S. fourth-quarter gross domestic product growth is nearing 4 percent and the unemployment rate remains at a nearly 17-year low with 228,000 jobs added last month.

Those numbers have hardly registered in the top headlines about President Trump. Instead of learning about the current tangible financial prosperity the White House is helping fuel, Americans are more likely to hear about Trump’s tweets, followed by self-righteous television commentary or the latest celebrity to attack the president—most recently, Christian Bale.

Bale, famous for his portrayal of Batman in the Christopher Nolan installments, said in a recent interview America now “seethes with hatred and division,” and Trump has negatively affected citizens’ attitudes toward people of different opinions and immigrants. Bale added he’s grown ashamed of what it’s become. [Read More]

RNC outraises DNC in record-breaking November (The Hill)

The Republican National Committee announced Wednesday it raised $8.2 million in November, outraising the Democratic National Committee by $2.5 million.

The RNC’s November haul brings its 2017 fundraising total to $121.4 million. It is also the most the national campaign committee has ever raised in the November of a non-election year, according to the RNC.

The DNC, meanwhile, raised $5.7 million in November and has raised roughly $62 million so far in 2017, according to fillings with the Federal Election Commission. [Read More]
