WASHINGTON (WMAL) — The DC area is looking at a warm week through Christmas day.
Mark Thibodeau, senior radio broadcast meteorologist at the Weather Channel, told WMAL that today’s high will be up around 60, and that this isn’t the last warm day of the year.
“We’ve leapt into spring here temporarily,” said Thibodeau, describing this week as the last warm week of the year. There will be colder temperatures later in the week, but Thibodeau is forecasting a warm up for the weekend.
Santa may not need his red coat in the DC region, as Thibodeau says that it will be in 50’s on Sunday, Christmas Eve and back near 60 on Christmas day. This leaves little chance for a ‘white Christmas,’ but more likely a ‘wet Christmas.’
