Hillcrest Heights, Md. — Early Tuesday morning, Prince George’s County Fire Department responded to a fire report at a two-story apartment building in the 3300 block of Curtis Drive in Hillcrest Heights, authorities say.
Five residents and one firefighter were treated for injuries. Two of the residents were transported to local hospitals but, the injured firefighter was reported ‘OK,’ according to PGFD spokesman Mark Brady’s Twitter.
At 7:13 AM, Brady began reports of the fire on Twitter. Nine minutes later, the firefighters were forced to evacuate from flames extending into the attic and roof.

At 7:24 AM, Brady said the evacuation tones sounded and all firefighters were forced to leave the building.
PGFD remains at the scene. Brady said the EMS Task Force sounded and will bring additional aid.
