WASHINGTON (WMAL)– The search is on for at least two men who are accused of holding up an armored truck this morning in Beltsville. It happened along the 10600 block of Baltimore Avenue.
Jennifer Donelan, a spokeswoman for the Prince George’s County Police Department says around 10:30 Friday morning, a van drove the wrong way into the Bank of America branch as two guards were loading money into the ATM.
The suspects then pointed guns at the guards and took an undisclosed amount of money.
The van has since been located, but the suspects are still on the run. “We’re confident they’re no longer in the area,” Donelan told reporters.
Police are currently reviewing surveillance video.
Donelan says this does not appear to have been a random robbery. “This was an orchestrated crime”.
