BETHESDA, MD — (WMAL) Police responding to a complaint call for teens being loud and drunk at a party came across 17-year-old Navid Sepheri hours before his body was found in a wooded ravine nearby.

Sepheri was one of several teens who were standing in the road on Elgin Lane Saturday night when officers drove by to investigate the party. The teens told the officers they were waiting for their parents to come pick them up, and said they were outside waiting because the party inside had broken up when the host’s parents found out that someone had brought alcohol.

Officers declined to arrest the teens, and instead continued on to investigate the home where the party took place.

Sepheri’s father went to a local police station early the next morning to report his son missing, and the teen’s body was found late Sunday afternoon. Police used cell phone information provided by the teen’s family to help find his body.

Sepheri was a senior at Walt Whitman High School. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. Police do not suspect foul play.
