FAIRFAX, Va. (WMAL) — Charles Ray Knight, a former Major League Baseball player, manager and TV analyst has been charged with assault and battery.

Police were called to his home in Alexandria yesterday when an argument turned physical between Knight and a 33 year old man. Both Knight and the victim were taken to the hospital and treated.

According to the Fairfax Police, Knight has been released and has a court date set for early January.

Knight played for several MLB teams including the Baltimore Orioles, and currently works as a broadcaster for “Nats Xtra” on MASN.
