MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD (WMAL) — Cory Boatman, age 27, of Wheaton, was arrested by Montgomery County Police for having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old female student at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring. In addition to being a substitute teacher Boatman was also the assistant football coach at the school.
The girl told detectives that in early August, Boatman began sending her suggestive text messages. Later in August, the teacher picked the 16-year-old up at her house and then took her back to his place to allegedly have sex.
Boatman turned himself into detectives after an arrest warrant was issued on Friday. He has not yet had a bond hearing.
Detectives are still searching for other possible victims and are requesting that parents of students who may have had contact with Boatman talk to their children about their interactions with him and contact detectives at 240-773-5400 if they believe their child was victimized.
