6am – A/B/C Mother in Coma Heard Everything, Including How Doctors Shut Off Her Life Support and Said She’d Die. (Life News) — Three little words changed an Arizona family’s entire outlook as they stood at their mother’s deathbed. Doctors thought Lyndee Brown Pellettiere-Swapp, 47, was dying and would never wake from her coma. But soon after she was removed from life support, Pellettiere-Swapp said three words out loud: “I’m a fighter.” The Daily Mail reports Pellettiere-Swapp was not brain dead but locked-in, a condition where she could hear things around her but was unable to respond or move. Her family found her unconscious one day back in 2015 and rushed her to the hospital. She suffered several seizures, and after 12 days in the hospital, doctors said her organs were failing. They said the best option would be to turn off her life support, according to the report. Doctors told her husband and children that she would never come out of her coma, and there was nothing more to be done. So, on Oct. 29, 2015, doctors turned off her life support. Meanwhile, she said her husband was by her side whispering, “I need you to fight.” Pellettiere-Swapp told CBS 5 that she heard everything that people around her were saying, including the plans to remove her life support. She said she remembered her niece coming into her hospital room and reading to her. She said she remembered doctors examining her and talking to her family about removing her life support.

  • Alabama Poll: No ‘Trump Bump’ for Luther Strange; Roy Moore Opens Up 16-Point Lead Voters in Alabama were not impacted by President Donald Trump’s endorsement and campaign for Luther Strange and remain likely to nominate conservative candidate Judge Roy Moore, according to polling data obtained by the Wall Street Journal. The poll, conducted by Georgia-based The Trafalgar Group, found that 57 percent of likely Republican voters plan to support Judge Roy Moore, while just 41 percent intend to vote for the establishment-backed candidate, Luther Strange. This 16-point lead is far higher than Moore’s current RealClearPolitics average lead of 8.8 percent, suggesting he might be experiencing a late surge in popularity.
  • Donald Trump: I’ll Be ‘Campaigning Like Hell’ for Roy Moore If He Beats Luther Strange President Donald Trump repeated his promise to campaign in Alabama for Roy Moore if he beat appointed Senator Luther Strange in the Republican Senate primary. “I told Luther, and I have to say this, if his opponent wins, I’m going to be here campaigning like hell for him,” Trump said in an interview on the “Rick and Bubba” radio show on Monday morning. But Trump stood by his endorsement of Strange, saying that the McConnell backed candidate was being “unfairly labeled” as “best friends of Mitch McConnell.” “He doesn’t even know Mitch, I mean he met him a few months ago when he came to Washington, he got to know him a little bit, but he virtually doesn’t even know him,” Trump said. “You know politics is a dirty business, you guys might have figured that out by now.”

The Republican operative will testify behind closed doors as part of the House Intelligence Committee’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. But officials are braced for his unique brand of theatrics before, during, and after the session, not least because Stone says he will bring a reporter and cameraman to Capitol Hill with him.

7am – B Sheila Jackson Lee and Maxine Waters Go Cray Cray:

  • Black lawmaker kneels on House floor in solidarity with athletes. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) kneeled on the House floor Monday night to show solidarity with NFL players defying President Trump to protest police brutality. Jackson Lee, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, blasted Trump for attacking NFL players who kneel during the national anthem at games to draw attention to the treatment of African Americans by law enforcement. Then she took a knee herself. “I kneel in honor of them. I kneel in front of the flag and on this floor,” Jackson Lee declared. “I kneel in honor of the First Amendment. I kneel because the flag is a symbol for freedom. I kneel because I’m going to stand against racism. I kneel because I will stand with those young men and I’ll stand with our soldiers. And I’ll stand with America, because I kneel.”
  • MAD MAXINE: Impeach Trump over NFL kneelers! Come hell or high water, Maxine Waters is going to try to impeach President Trump. During a weekend appearance on MSNBC, the California congresswoman told host Joy Reid that Trump “is the most deplorable person I have ever met, seen or witnessed,” and that he should be impeached in part due to his response to the NFL players kneeling during the national anthem. “It is absolutely outrageous and dangerous what he’s doing,” Waters declared, referring to the president’s call for a boycott of the league. “He started dog-whistling to that constituency during the campaign and started his division,” she said, bringing up former White House advisor Steve Bannon. “They frighten people. They play into racism. They do what every other president either has attempted not to do, or at least showed some signs of, uh, you know, trying to bring people together, or not divide,” she said.

The post, captioned with the hashtag #StarTrekDiscovery and #takeaknee, appeared online just hours after the show’s world premiere. While many social media users praised the actors for making their political statement, other users called the gesture “ridiculous” and “shameful.” “Ridiculous, lost a follower! It’s disrespectful to those that died for our flag no matter how you look at it #shameful,” one Instagram user wrote in response to the photo.
