Teenager Killed in Officer Involved Shooting in Haymarket

HAYMARKET, Va (WMAL) — Prince William County Police are currently investigating an officer involved shooting Friday morning that left a teenager dead.

Police say they responded to call on the 6800 block of Hartzell Hill Lane for a possible hostage situation. When they arrived, they saw a 15 year old boy standing in front of the house.

Police say the teen was holding a crowbar and was walking toward the officers in a threatening manor, and that the teen refused multiple commands to drop the crowbar, so he was shot in the chest.

His name has not been made public. The investigation is continuing.
