OLNEY, MD (WMAL) — Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department looking for a missing pregnant teacher, who lives in Olney.
Captain Paul Starks, spokesman for Montgomery County Police said that Laura Elizabeth Wallen, age 31, had been seen preparing her classroom in Howard County over the last few weeks – at the same school where she won a “teacher of the year” award last year.
Ms. Wallen last contacted family members with a text message.
According to Captain Starks, “[Laura’s family] received a text…They became alarmed and contacted police and we began documenting the event.”
Since that time, family members have been unable to reach her. It is also unclear as to what that text message said.
Ms. Wallen is a white female, 5’5” tall and 200 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. She is about four months pregnant.
“Family and police are concerned not only for Laura’s welfare, but for the welfare of the baby,” Starks said.
Investigators believe that she may be driving a black, 2011 Ford Escape with Maryland tags: M522473.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Laura Elizabeth Wallen is asked to call Montgomery County’s 24-hour police non-emergency line at 301-279-8000.
