ARIZONA (WMAL) — Sen. John McCain held a “Facebook Live Town Hall” in which he delved into several high profile issues, including his decision to vote against the so-called “skinny repeal” of The Affordable Care Act.

In the video, which lasts a little over thirty minutes, McCain explained his rationale for voting against the Senate bill, insisting that a new, bipartisan bill should be brought to the floor to fix the ACA, commonly known as “Obamacare.”

It echoed earlier comments McCain had made in a speech upon first returning to the Senate calling for a return to “normal legislative session.”

In the video, McCain did make reference to potential electoral consequences if the ACA remains the law of the land, saying that “if we don’t get things done then obviously our voters will ask why they sent us here.”

Several senators have expressed interest in a new, bipartisan bill to fix and change crucial parts of Obamacare, but those attempts have been a non-starter with the White House.

The segment on Healthcare is about eight minutes into the video.

The virtual town hall event, which was recorded yesterday, also sees McCain talking about other pressing issues such as the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, tensions between the US and North Korea, and various local Arizona issues.
