(Daily Caller) — After weeks of speculation regarding Sessions’ job security, President Trump took to Twitter — his preferred method of communication — to praise the attorney general on Saturday for cracking down on illegal leaks of classified information. “After many years of LEAKS going on in Washington, it is great to see the A.G. taking action!” Trump wrote. “For National Security, the tougher the better!”
  • Deputy AG days after Sessions threatened to subpoena journalists: We’re after leakers, not journalists (The Hill) — Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein on Sunday said the Department of Justice (DOJ) is not targeting journalists as it clamps down on leaks in the administration. “The attorney general has been very clear that we’re after the leakers, not the journalists,” he said on “Fox News Sunday.” Rosenstein said the department wants to target the people who are committing crimes. He also said the DOJ is putting forth the necessary resources in its effort to prevent these leaks and will respond appropriately.
