MARYLAND — (WMAL) Not only did a man who tried to rob an ATM with a backhoe leave with no cash, but he also caused $10,000 worth of damage to the machine.

On June 1, the suspect stole a backhoe and drove it to an ATM on the 7500 block of Marlboro Pike. He then unsuccessfully attempted to break into the machine with the backhoe’s digger.

Police believe this suspect is the same man who stole cash and an ATM from a tobacco shop in the same area in March.
