Listen as Larry spoke with Bloomberg View Columnist Eli Lake regarding his latest article, Trump’s Allies, Convicted of High Crimes Without a Trial.
During the interview, Lake discussed why he’s speaking out against individuals labeling General Flynn a traitor without proper evidence:
Lake: And this is the problem which is that what we have a counter-intelligence investigation. And I’m of the view that I think it’s warranted, go look under all the rocks. I’m not of the view that the Russians didn’t try to influence the 2016 campaign. I don’t think all of it is fake news, and that’s important. The problem is, is that it’s an ongoing terror intelligence investigation that’s playing out in public. And that means that people are accused of the most serious crimes. Mike Flynn is a retired three-star General who served his country brilliantly and nobly over more than a three-decade career in the U.S. Army. Some of the things that he did in regards to rolling-up and and understanding terror networks with his team has saved lives, not just American lives but Iraqi and Afghan lives. And that’s something that we should not lose sight of before we just so casually make jokes about the fact that this is somebody who [inaudible] or worse. And that’s what I was trying to get at which is to say maybe there will be evidence that will be presented, but it hasn’t been presented yet but it’s already got to the point where we’re treating this guy like he’s some type of [inaudible] traitor. And I’m sorry but that’s just not fair and I’m happy to be one of the few voices in media that’s going to make that point.
