UPDATE: service has been restored.

Washington — (WMAL) The red line train service is shut down between Gallery Place and Dupont Circle due to fire department activity at the Metro Center.

D.C. Fire is currently working with WMATA to investigate a report of possible smoke in the tunnel between Metro Center and Farragut North Stations.
