Four Arrested After Pot-Smoking Protest Outside Capitol Building

WASHINGTON — (WMAL) Plans for a 4:20 p.m. pot-smoking protest began and ended early today after four people were arrested before 3 p.m.

 

Adam Eidinger, the co-founder of DCMJ, the cannabis activist group that lead the smoke-in, was among those arrested.

He was also arrested on April 20 for handing out joints to members of congress.

The Capitol Police put out the following statement:

“At approximately 1:30 p.m. today, the United States Capitol Police (USCP) arrested four individuals on the East Front Plaza of the U.S. Capitol for smoking marijuana on Capitol Grounds. Under federal law, it is unlawful to possess marijuana.

Two adult males and two adult females were charged with 21 USC 844(a) (possession). They were taken to USCP Headquarters for processing.”
