During the interview, Attorney General Paxton discussed his support of President Trump’s immigration order:
O’Connor: Where do you think this is headed Attorney General Paxton? Because many people are looking at this 4th circuit where you filed your amicus brief as right up there with the 9th circuit as pretty much one of the most left leaning and most over turned circuits in the country.
Paxton: So you know ultimately it would not shock me to see this, not only in front of a circuit court, but essentially in front of the U.S. Supreme Court. I’m not saying that is going to happen, but it would not surprise me. We’re talking about whether the President has the authority to basically do his job and look out for national security interests. If a President can’t do that, then I think we’ve got some serious issues about protecting our country.
