Listen as Larry and Vince Coglianese of the Daily Caller spoke with Scott Ryan Presler of Gays for Trump about his speech being ‘temporarily canceled’ at Woodson High School due to his thoughts on Sharia Law.
During the interview, Presler explained the backstory behind his canceled speech:
Presler: Basically we actually had this in the plan for months. We had set a date a couple of weeks prior but things kept getting pushed back. So it was the day of the speech and I get a call from one of the faculty members at the school and they tell me that I was temporarily canceled. And so come to find out, the Muslim Students Association at the school, a group of students wrote a letter to the principal that was very demeaning towards me and was talking about how things that I’ve said about radical Islam and terror were threatening towards them and they didn’t feel comfortable with my coming to the school. And so that’s really what prompted me to make the Facebook video that captured your attention.
And so throughout my career as a political activist, just to give a little back story to your listeners, I came out as gay after the Orlando shooting. After a radical Islamic terrorist murdered 49 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida. That was a wakeup call for me. And so I decided as personally I’d come out as gay and I would support President Trump because I want things like National Security, I want to be protected and I want to stop the radical spread of terror.
And so when I was disinvited from the school, you know it was really hurtful and it was an attack on my free speech and that’s why I came out and did the video. I explain myself that whenever I talk about radical Islamic terror, I’m not talking about Islam as a whole, I’m not talking about the Muslim community as a whole, I’m talking about a radical sect of the ideology where there are countries in the world, where homosexuals like myself are punished via death through an interpretation of Sharia Law. So that’s kind of where I’m coming from.
