HOUSTON, TX — (WMAL) Police responded to Ben Taub Hospital in downtown Houston, Texas, Tuesday afternoon following up on a report of shots fired.
Police Chief Art Acevedo said that there was no evidence found by officers to support the claims of an active shooter in the hospital. They checked video camera footage and searched every floor of the hospital multiple times.
Officials had placed a lockdown order on the hospital as a SWAT team searched the building.
The Houston Police Department confirmed that there were no injuries.
Chief Acevedo said that officers will be posted on every floor of the hospital for the next few hours until they issue an “all clear.”
