Milo Resigns as Editor from Breitbart News

NEW YORK (AP/WMAL) — A day after having his invitation to this week’s Conservative Political Action Conference rescinded, Milo Yiannopoulos now has resigned as editor of Breitbart Tech after coming under fire from other conservatives over comments on sexual relationships between boys and older men.

Yiannopoulos made the announcement official in a news conference Tuesday afternoon.

“My employer at Breitbart news has stood by me while others caved. They’ve allowed me to carry conservative and libertarian ideas to communities that otherwise never have had them. They have been a significant factor in my success, and I am grateful for the freedom and the friendships I have forged there. But I would be wrong to allow my poor choice of words to detract from my colleague’s important job, which is why today I am resigning from Breitbart effective immediately.”

Yiannopoulos says plans for his book will continue with a new publisher. Yesterday, Simon & Schuster and its Threshold Editions imprint announced it would cancel the publication of his book, “Dangerous.”

He also plans to start a new media venture, but didn’t provide further details.
