WASHINGTON — (WMAL) The Associated Press projected that Republican Congresswoman Barbara Comstock of Virginia’s 10th district defeated Democrat LuAnn Bennett for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
With 85 percent of the precinct reporting, Comstock held a 55 to 45 lead over Bennett.
Comstock is heading to her second term after succeeding longtime 10th District Republican Frank Wolf in 2014.
This is good news for Republicans hoping to maintain some control of the House.
