WASHINGTON – If you’re “Born to Run” tie up your sneakers because running may be the fastest way to get home after tonight’s Bruce Springsteen concert. Metro will not be staying open late due to SafeTrack.
Showtime’s 7:30, but The Boss often starts late and is known for playing long shows. If he plays a four hour show like he did recently in New Jersey, you won’t be able to get a train to the Red Line unless you leave early. The last train with a Red Line connection leaves Navy Yard at 11:20 p.m. The last train to Greenbelt leaves at 11:39 p.m. The last train to Branch Avenue at 12:17 a.m. If you want to stay until the last note, you can take a taxi, but Uber and Lyft could be surge pricing if there is a lot of demand.
Another option is taking the Potomac Riverboat Company’s water taxi from Alexandria or National Harbor to the concert. It brings people to Navy Yard at 5 p.m. and leaves Navy Yard 20 minutes after the last song. A representative tells WMAL you can just take the water taxi home from the concert, but you will still need to buy a $40 round trip ticket.
All Nationals-managed parking lots are sold out. Privately-managed lots do offer overflow parking, but those lots can fill up quickly.
