WASHINGTON — (WMAL) Red line trains traveling between the Shady Grove and Twinbrook stations will face continuous single tracking beginning today. The seventh installment of the eighteen-part horror movie otherwise known as SafeTrack is scheduled to conclude on August 18th.

WMATA reports that all other red line stations are expected to provide “near-normal service” throughout Surge 7. Additional trains will be running during the morning and afternoon commutes between Twinbrook and Glenmont stations, as well as between Grosvenor and Silver Spring stations.

Ride On will provide courtesy shuttle buses between Shady Grove and Grosvenor stations during the work week. Shuttle buses will completely replace trains on the weekends between Shady Grove and Grosvenor stations, between the hours of 7am on Saturday and the close-of-business on Sunday.

Numerous travel alternatives, including bus routes, MARC lines, and carpooling connections, are detailed on WMATA’s SafeTrack website, which can be found here.
