WASHINGTON (WUSA9) — The Fourth of July weekend has yet to officially begin, but festivities are already under way in our nation’s capital – and for some that means thinking about security. “I hadn’t noticed any today,” one tourist said, as they looked out over the mall. “So hopefully things will be okay.” For some, the fun that comes with the holiday weekend is clouded by the terror attack in Turkey, and the warnings that followed. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Department told WUSA9 they have “made preparations across the city and will have an enhanced security presence” over the weekend.
6am – A/B/C Marine Corps Renaming 19 Jobs to Meet Gender Neutral Directive. Sometime in the next few days, 19 occupational specialties within the Marine Corps are going to get renamed to meet the directive sent from the Navy secretary that all jobs titles become gender neutral, the Marine Corps Times reported. They’re taking the “man” out of the Corps. “As we achieve full integration of the force … this is an opportunity to update the position titles and descriptions themselves to demonstrate through this language that women are included in these (Military Occupational Specialties),” Navy Secretary Ray Mabus wrote in a January order, the Washington Times reported. “Please review the position titles throughout the Marine Corps and ensure that they are gender-integrated as well, removing ‘man’ from the titles.” Iconic job titles “rifleman” and “mortarman” will remain, but here are a few of the 19 titles that are changing, according to the Marine Corps Times; “man” will be replaced by “Marine.”

(AP) — Authorities have rounded up three sheep found wondering through downtown Frederick. The Frederick News-Post reports police records show that the animals were first spotted Monday night. Officials arrived at the scene, where one of the three wooly wanderers was captured. The other two remained on the loose. The next morning, authorities were called to the city parking garage, where witnesses saw the animals inside. However, by the time officers arrived, the sheep had fled again. After chasing the animals all over the city, Sgt. David Luckenbaugh, a county animal control supervisor, says they were finally captured in a creek.

7am – C Crystal Pepsi Is Returning to Store Shelves. PepsiCo tries to tap into ’90s nostalgia by bringing back colorless cola. It is the latest bid by the No. 2 soda player behind Coca-Cola Co. to win back consumers. PepsiCo’s U.S. soda sales fell 2% in the 52 weeks ended June 18, worse than the 0.6% decline industrywide, according to Wells Fargo, citing Nielsen store-scanner data. PepsiCo hoped Crystal Pepsi would quickly become a $1 billion brand. The new brand was featured in a 1993 Super Bowl commercial, carrying the tagline, “You’ve never seen a taste like this’’ to Van Halen’s hit song “Right Now.” But Crystal Pepsi’s share of the U.S. soda market peaked at 0.5% in 1993, far below the company’s initial 2% goal, and sales had evaporated by 1995, according to data service Beverage Digest. Some drinkers complained that it didn’t taste enough like regular Pepsi.

The unannounced meeting, which comes as Lynch’s Justice Department is investigating the handling of classified information on Hillary Clinton’s private email server, came to light only when Phoenix’s ABC15 TV station asked Lynch about it during a press conference. The Obama appointee told the TV station that she and Clinton did not discuss the investigation or any other government business. Instead, she says they talked about Clinton’s grandchildren and golf.
