CHANTILLY, VA — (WMAL) Fairfax County is improving its Connector routes this Saturday with 37 changes, as well as its new weekend service in Centreville and Chantilly. The changes will increase punctuality and address high-ridership corridors.

The route changes are in response to public demand, says Nick Perfili, Fairfax Connector Section Chief, and are unrelated to the ongoing Metro Safetrack operation.

The modifications expand transit options in the I-66 corridor and will coordinate with “the SafeTrack mitigation service in addition to these service changes,” says Perfili.

All riders in Fairfax County are being taken into account as the new weekend service is intended for a transit-dependant population that travels with limited bus transportation on weekdays.

Commuters will also benefit as new expanded facility is taken into account.

The weekend service begins Saturday, June 18.
