WASHINGTON — (WMAL)

Time will soon tell whether the Washington, D.C. area reaches 90 degrees this weekend.

When asked about the lately-atypical weather, Meteorologist Bryan Jackson with the National Weather Service said the cold fronts the D.C. area has been experiencing have been stronger “than what you would typically see in the month of June.” He thinks the hot air moving across the country will likely ramp up this weekend’s temperatures.

“This is a particular season that we’re going through, and every season has a pattern associated with,” said Jackson. “This is typical summertime weather coming up ahead.”

Jackson tells WMAL that more showers and thunderstorms were expected for Saturday morning if we do not hit the 90-mark, although he is remaining optimistic.
