WASHINGTON (WMAL)– Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton won the respective Republican and Democratic primaries in Maryland handily Tuesday.
Clinton led on the Democratic side with 63 percent of the vote, to 33 percent for Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Trump came out in front among the GOP candidates with nearly 55 percent of the vote. Ohio governor John Kasich came in second with 23 percent, and Sen. Ted Cruz trailed just behind Kasich with 19 percent.
Trump swept the rest of the states voting Tuesday, with CNN and AP calling victories in Delaware, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. Clinton won Delaware, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, while Sanders won Rhode Island.
