5am – A/B/C Only 6% of Americans trust the media – survey. As accusations of bias fly during an election year, a new report shows that Americans have serious misgivings about the media, with only six percent saying they have “a great deal of confidence” in the press. A survey of more than 2,000 adults released on Sunday showed that trust in the media has dipped to dramatically low levels. About 52 percent of respondents said they have “some confidence” in the press, while 41 percent said they have “hardly any confidence.”

5am – D         DRIVE AT FIVE INTERVIEW – KEN KLUKOWSKI – Breitbart legal editor

  • Supreme Court Appears Divided on Obama’s Immigration Plan

5am – E         Obama fails to mention Russian jets buzzing Navy ship during talk with Putin. (Washington Times) — President Obama spoke by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin Monday but didn’t raise the issue of Moscow’s fighter jets buzzing a U.S. destroyer, the White House said. “That did not come up in the call between the two presidents,” said White House press secretary Josh Earnest, who said they had a “rather intense” discussion instead about the breakdown of a cease-fire in Syria’s civil war. Russian fighter jets made several low flights over the Navy destroyer in the Baltic Sea last week, and a U.S. embassy official in Moscow complained through diplomatic channels to the Russian government. Mr. Earnest said Mr. Obama didn’t bring it up in his phone call with Mr. Putin because the military encounter was relatively routine.

6am – A/B/C Chris Hemsworth’s Response To His Daughter’s Request For A Penis Is Perfect. *This* is how you do parenting. (Huffington Post) – Chris Hemsworth just discovered there are some parenting moments you never see coming. The actor, currently promoting “The Huntsman: Winter’s War,“ opened up to Ellen DeGeneres about an especially unexpected incident with his 4-year-old daughter, India Rose, that left him stumbling to come up with an appropriate response. After noting that his new film involves being “rescued by these very powerful women” and how he wants his own daughter to live in a world “where [women are] in charge of their own destiny and they’re not waiting for the prince to rescue them,” Hemsworth revealed that he’s currently dealing with a bit of jealousy in his house. “My daughter’s kind of envious of my [2-year-old twin] boys at the moment,” he said. “She came to me the other day and said, ‘Papa, I want one of those things that [my sons] Sasha and Tristan have… the things in between their legs.”

6am – D         Hillary Clinton Has Hot Sauce in Her Bag, Just Like Beyoncé. Who knew Hillary Clinton was such a Beyoncé fan? Ahead of Tuesday’s New York primary, Clinton appeared on 105.1’s The Breakfast Club Monday morning.  Later in the interview, Angela Yee asked Clinton to reveal something she “always” carries with her on the road. “Hot sauce,” the politician replied. “Really?” Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy asked in unison. “Are you getting in formation right now? Hot sauce in my bag, swag!” Charlamagne Tha God asked, referring to lyrics from Beyoncé’s latest hit single, “Formation.” “Hot sauce,” Clinton reiterated. “Yes!” Charlamagne Tha God warned Clinton that some people who listened to her interview might think she was “pandering to black people.” Clinton anticipated that very criticism. In fact, she welcomed it. “OK!” she said with a laugh. “Is it working? No, seriously, I’ve been eating a lot of hot sauce—a lot of raw peppers and hot sauce. Because I think it keeps my immune system strong. I really do. I think hot sauce is good for you—in moderation. Let’s not go overboard.”

6am – E         SAUDI ARABIA:

  • Obama, Defense Secretary Ash Carter Head for Saudi Arabia to Talk Security
  • Victims of 9/11 families accuse Obama of ‘siding with Saudi Arabia’ by refusing to declassify 28 pages of report that ‘shows Gulf nation backed atrocity’ as they threaten to pull $750 billion in US assets

7am – A         INTERVIEW — ROBERT COSTA – National Political Reporter, The Washington Post

– Preview New York primary

 – COSTA: While the GOP worries about convention chaos, Trump pushes for ‘showbiz’ feel

7am – B         Entertainment:

  • Republican front-runner Donald Trump is still in pursuit of his party’s nomination, but he has some thoughts about how the GOP convention should go, saying in an interview he wants to “put some showbiz” into the proceedings.  Trump described 2012 as “the most boring convention I’ve ever seen,” and vowed to liven things up for 2016, according to an interview with The Washington Post published on Sunday evening. It’s very important to put some showbiz into a convention, otherwise people are going to fall asleep,” the former reality TV star said. “We don’t have the people who know how to put showbiz into a convention.”
  • Rex Ryan Endorses Donald Trump, Who Once Bashed Buffalo Bills Ownership. The braggadocios Rex Ryan and bombastic Donald Trump appear to be a perfect match, except for the fact that Trump once bashed the man who signs Ryan’s checks. Ryan endorsed Trump for president and introduced him at a rally in Buffalo Monday, saying he appreciates the Republican presidential front-runner’s candor. “One thing I really admire about [Trump] is he’ll say what’s on his mind,” Ryan said. “So many times, a lot of people want to say the same thing, but there’s a big difference: they don’t have the courage to say it. They all think it, but they don’t have the courage to say it. Donald Trump certainly has the courage to say it. That’s what I respect.”

7am – C  Not paying D.C. tickets could impact your credit score. WASHINGTON — Parking tickets and traffic tickets are big business in D.C., and officials are doing more to go after drivers who don’t pay their fines. Ticket payments that are late by 100 days are considered debts. “They can report you to the credit bureau,” said John B. Townsend II, spokesman for AAA Mid-Atlantic. “It can impact your FICO score. It’s reported as a debt and that puts a ding on your credit score.” Since 2011, the city has collected nearly $125 million in delinquent fines by using the District tax office and third party debt collectors, according to an evaluation by AAA Mid-Atlantic.

7am – D         INTERVIEW — Prince George’s County Police Department POLICE CHIEF HENRY “HANK” STAWINSKI

  • Officials: Too soon to say if charges in Prince George’s firefighter death. LARGO, Md. (AP) — Authorities said Monday that it’s too soon to say whether charges will be filed against a man who fatally shot a firefighter who was attempting to enter his home to check on his health. Angela Alsobrooks, the Prince George’s County state’s attorney, said Monday that investigators need to access “what’s reasonable given what his belief was about whether danger existed or not.” Hank Stawinski, the county police chief. Stawinski said the man who fired the shots has been subpoenaed to appear before a grand jury. Stawinski said investigators have not been able to interview the shooter’s brother or Swain. “It’s not that we have facts that didn’t lead us to it,” Stawinski said, when asked about potential charges. “It’s an absence of facts that would get us to where we’re confident in placing that charge.” He also said forensic evidence such as the position of a door and number of shots fired were still being gathered. “When we have the facts, we’ll make the decision based on those facts, and again we want the process to play out,” Stawinski said. Stawinski said firefighters “took every opportunity to make their presence known, based on what I have so far.”

7am – E         Family spokeswoman: ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ star Doris Roberts died in her sleep at age 90. Doris Roberts, celebrated for her portrayal of a loving but meddling mom on Everybody Loves Raymond, died Sunday. Roberts’ son, Michael Cannata, confirmed the news in a statement issued Monday that says his mother “died peacefully in her sleep of natural causes.” The 90-year-old actress, whose celebrated career spanned six decades, won four Emmys for her portrayal of Marie Barone on the top-rated, long-running CBS comedy series (1996-2005). She won an Emmy earlier in her career for supporting actress for her role on NBC’s medical drama St. Elsewhere. Raymond star Ray Romano remembered the actress who played his title character’s mother in a statement: “Doris Roberts had an energy and a spirit that amazed me. She never stopped. Whether working professionally or with her many charities, or just nurturing and mentoring a young, green comic trying to make it as an actor, she did it all with such a grand love for life and people and I will miss her dearly.”

8am – A         INTERVIEW – LT COL RALPH PETERS – Retired Army lieutenant colonel and Fox News Strategic Analyst

  • ISIS/IRAQ: U.S. to send 200+ more troops to beat ISIS in Iraq, Ashton Carter says
  • RUSSIA: Obama fails to mention Russian jets buzzing Navy ship during talk with Putin.

8am – B         2016 News:

  • Romney: ‘With Three Candidates I Think Trump Gets It on the First Ballot.’ After Donald Trump began racking up big victories deep into the Republican primary election, there was a widespread call for his remaining challengers to clear the field and let one person consolidate the anti-Trump vote. Those calls intensified briefly when the field was whittled down to its current three, with more than a little anger Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who hadn’t won anywhere but his home state. Those calls have been muted recently though, as the GOP seemed to accept that Kasich was in it for the duration, regardless of his mathematical elimination from the race for the 1,237 delegates needed for a first-ballot majority. However, in an interview recorded for journalist David Gregory’s podcast, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, the GOP’s most recent presidential nominee, predicted that unless either Kasich or Texas Sen. Ted Cruz gets out of the race, the GOP will have to face the prospect of Trump being nominated on the first ballot at the party’s convention in Cleveland this July. “If it remains three candidates I think Mr. Trump gets it on the first ballot,” he said.
  • Kasich snaps at reporter who asks him about his single win. John Kasich apparently doesn’t like being asked why he’s only won a single state in the Republican presidential primary. On Saturday, the Ohio governor — whose lone victory was in his home state — was talking up his chances when Demetri Sevastopulo, a reporter for the Financial Times, interrupted him. “Listen, at the end of the day I think the Republican Party wants to pick somebody who actually can win in the fall…” Kasich began. “If you’ve only won Ohio…” Sevastopulo butted in. “Can I finish?” Kasich said testily. “If you answer the question,” Sevastopulo responded. “I’m answering the question the way I want to answer it,” Kasich said. “You want to answer it?” Kasich then snatched Sevastopulo’s voice recorder out of his hand and turned it toward him: “What do you think?”  “I think you should answer the question,” Sevastopulo said.
  • Trump refers to terror attacks on ‘7/11’ at pre-NY primary rally. Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump’s final rally before Tuesday’s New York primary was marked by an unfortunate slip of the tongue, as the real estate mogul mistakenly mentioned the name of a popular convenience store chain in place of 9/11. Trump was about to deliver prepared remarks lauding New York values at Buffalo’s First Niagara Center Monday night when he referred to 7-Eleven. “It’s very close to my heart because I was down there, and I watched our police and our firemen down at 7/11, down at the World Trade Center right after it came down, and I saw the greatest people I’ve ever seen in action,” Trump told the crowd.
  • Trump: I haven’t decided yet if I’ll keep Reince Priebus as RNC chair once I’m the nominee. RNC spokesman: Trump won’t oust Priebus. If Donald Trump is the nominee, Reince Priebus will still be the chairman of the Republican National Committee, at least according to communications director and strategist Sean Spicer. Spicer, who was speaking to CNN on Monday, was asked about comments Trump had made that left the door open to a new RNC chairman if he is the nominee. “You don’t speak for Reince, I know you speak for the RNC, but are you nervous about your job?” Spicer was asked. “No, I’m not and I’ll tell you why Reince Priebus was elected unanimously by the 168 members of the Republican National Committee. He will serve until January of 2017 because those are the people actually who elect the chairman,” Spicer said. “But more importantly, I think the bigger issue is this — any candidate that got the nomination would beg Reince Priebus to stay as chairman because he’s been so successful.” Spicer went on to say that the political operation set up under Priebus has far outpaced the Democratic party, going as far as to call it “the gold standard of political parties.”

8am – C         D.C. area spared from 17-year cicada invasion — for now. WASHINGTON — Soon, billions of bugs — that’s billions with a “B” — will invade the East Coast, but this time the D.C. area is off the hook. “We’re not going to have cicadas this year,” said Mike Raupp, the bug guy at the University of Maryland College Park. He was talking about the brood 5 cicadas, commonly known as 17-year cicadas after the amount of time they’ve been living in the ground.  They’ll emerge soon — by the end of May, depending on weather conditions. “Parts of Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio and Virginia — it is going to be spectacular,” Raupp said. He says you will have to travel a little farther west of D.C. to enjoy cicadas this year. “I know — how disappointing (that) we are off the hook, in this area,” Raupp said. “I guess this is good news for cicada-phobes. But sorely disappointing for cicada-philes.” But come 2021, he says, look out. “That’s the big brood, brood 10,” he said. “We’ll all be treated to that, even in the D.C.-metro area. This is the largest mass emergence of cicadas anywhere on the planet.”

8am – D         INTERVIEW —  LARRY KUDLOW – CNBC Senior Contributor and host of The Larry Kudlow Show on WMAL Saturdays at 7 pm

8am – E         Entertainment News:

  • Hillary Clinton Has Hot Sauce in Her Bag, Just Like Beyoncé. • Mark Ruffalo Interviews Bernie Sanders While Walking In Brooklyn. NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)– Actor Mark Ruffalo interviewed presidential candidate Bernie Sanders as the two took a walk together in Brooklyn just yards from where the White House hopeful grew up. Sanders discussed education in America, the Civil Rights movement and more while talking about how the various experiences throughout his life have shaped his views in politics. “You have countries all over the world today who provide free college because they want to invest in the future of their nation. They don’t want kids to be going bankrupt,” he said. He defended his stance on less expensive education, saying that is not a “radical” idea. Sanders also spoke out on New York culture just a day before the state’s primary.
  • George Clooney admits money he raised for Hillary Clinton is ‘obscene.’  Bernie Sanders praises Hollywood star’s ‘integrity and honesty on this issue.’    Clooney: ‘It’s ridiculous we should have this kind of money in politics.’ George Clooney, who hosted big-money fundraisers for Hillary Clinton in California this weekend, has called such fundraising “obscene”.  In response Bernie Sanders, Clinton’s opponent for the Democratic nomination, said he respected Clooney’s “integrity and honesty on this issue” and added: “One of the great tragedies is that big money is buying elections.” Clinton leads Sanders by double digits in most polls regarding New York, which stages its primary on Tuesday.
