WASHINGTON (WMAL) — Just when you thought talk of the regions’ newest spring chickens was over – another eaglet has hatched in the Washington area over the weekend.
This eaglet is the third of the season, with a sibling expected to hatch any day now.
Liberty and Justice, the latest proud eagle parents, had an egg hatch over the weekend at their decade-old nest at the DC Police Academy in Southwest. The pair have had a nest in the same oak tree for 11 years.
Across town at the National Arboretum, Mr. President and the First Lady, the Washington metro’s other love birds, are tending to their two eaglets high up in a Tulip Poplar tree.
