LORTON (WMAL) — A Lorton man was found dead in the early hours of Friday morning after multiple neighbors reported hearing gunshots.

Johan de Leede, 83, was found unconscious in his backyard on the 6000 block of River Drive, suffering from traumatic upper body injuries. His wife was in the house at the time. De Leede was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Fairfax County police believe de Leede’s death was a homicide, and are currently investigating.
