WASHINGTON — (CNN) Flint Mayor Karen Weaver is expected to meet with President Barack Obama later Tuesday over the Michigan city’s water crisis, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters.
Earnest added that Weaver has already met with senior adviser Valerie Jarrett.
The administration is naming Nicole Lurie, the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response at the Department of Health Human Services, to coordinate federal response to the Flint crisis, Earnest said.
Obama, who will visit Detroit on Wednesday, is not expected to visit the city while he’s in Michigan.
