WASHINGTON — (WMAL) Although the Redskins fell to the Green Bay Packers in the NFL playoffs last week, one local charity was still a winner.
International Justice Mission raised over $40,000 last week from sales of Kirk Cousins rally towels and t-shirts.
They also received an extra $30,000 in donations.
Cousins partnered with IJM to sell towels with his catchphrase, “You like that?” on them to fans attending the Redskins-Packers game.
Julie Kilcur, a spokesperson for IJM, said that partnering with the charity was all Cousins’s idea.
“The Redskins wanted to use the ‘you like that’ phrase on the rally towels,” Kilcur said, “Kirk said ‘Sure, but I’d love for IJM to be included on those as well to raise more awareness.'”
IJM will put the money toward its mission of ending slavery, poverty and violence in the developing world.
