WASHINGTON — (WMAL) An Annapolis man is suing the city’s police department, charging that he was a victim of racial profiling.
But here’s the kicker: 35-year-old Daniel Hodges is white.
Hodges said he was pulled over and searched because he was in a mostly black-and-Latino neighborhood.
Apparently, this isn’t the first time this has happened. According to Hodges, this is the third time. He said the Annapolis Police suspect him of buying or selling drugs. Court documents support Hodges statements.
Hodges lawyer said he believed that this type of profiling was a long-standing, investigative technique used by the Annapolis Police, and that it was illegal.
Hodges has asked for $150,000 in damages from the police department.
