WASHINGTON — (WMAL) Chicken sandwich lovers across the District rejoice! D.C. will be getting its first taste of Chick-fil-A on November 4th.
The fast-food chain will open it’s first D.C. franchise in the DCUSA shopping center in Columbia Heights.
Well, almost the first. Technically this will be the first Chick-fil-A in D.C. that is not on a college campus. There is currently one D.C. location within Catholic University’s student center.
Per custom, the first 100 customers lined up at the new location will receive one free Chick-fil-A meal per week for a full year.
Sound like a delicious deal? Well, you may want to get in line soon. Individuals can officially start lining up at Chick-fil-A at 6 am on November 3rd.
That’s right: that’s an entire day before the franchise actually opens.
There are also some stipulations: only D.C. residents in certain zip codes can win the free chicken. Individuals are encouraged to check the local Chick-fil-A Facebook page to see if they qualify.
Chick-fil-A plans to open three to five more locations in D.C. within the next five years.

Chick-fil-A was nice enough to deliver breakfast to the WMAL studio to celebrate the new D.C. opening. Needless to say, we weren’t complaining!
