WASHINGTON — (WMAL) Everybody makes mistakes…or at least that’s what New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said happened during Sunday’s Amtrak incident.
Christie said he was sorry for making too much noise on an Amtrak “quiet car.”
A Christie spokeswoman said he “accidentally” took a seat in the quiet car while traveling from Washington back to New Jersey yesterday morning.
According to reports from other passengers, Christie took a seat on the ‘quiet car’ and began making a few loud phone calls. This continued for about five to 10 minutes until the conductor came up to Christie and gave him an ultimatum: stop making calls or exit the car.
The conductor approached Christie after receiving multiple complaints from other passengers in the car.
Christie did leave the car, but not without a lot of grumbling, reported another passenger.
Other passengers noted, however, that despite Christie’s frustration, he was overall very courteous.
