WASHINGTON — (WMAL) Bei Bei the panda cub is looking more and more like an adult panda every day.

Currently weighing in at 8.3 pounds, he’s a far cry from the tiny pink creature who was born at the end of August.

According to the National Zoo, Bei Bei hasn’t learned to walk yet, but he is starting to scoot around the den on his own.

He is also slowly gaining independence from his mother, Mei Xiang, who is leaving him alone in the den more often.

His black and white fur is growing in as well, and zookeepers have speculated that his fur markings are similar to those of his father, Tian Tian.
