WASHINGTON — (WMAL) Virginia’s Attorney General is unveiling a regional training initiative for police officers.
Attorney General Mark Herring said, “We don’t just want to meet the standards, we want to set them.”
Herring also said data supports how minority communities feel about police.
“We need to be honest about these problems and work to solve them,” Herring explained.
The new police training will focus on bias-awareness, de-escalation, and appropriate use of force.
