WASHINGTON – (WMAL) Starting Tuesday morning, rush-hour trains on WMATA’s Orange and Silver Lines will not stop at the Stadium-Armory station during morning and evening rush hours.
Only Blue Line trains will stop at Stadium-Armory. It’s likely to be that way for six months,Metro says.
The transit authority needs to repair damage from a fire in a power substation that occurred the week prior. The third rail was damaged in the fire, not allowing for enough power for full train service from the station.
Orange and Blue Line trains will pass Stadium-Armory Station from 5 a.m. – 10 a.m., 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Free shuttle service from Stadium-Armory to Minnesota Avenue will be provided during bypassed hours.
