WASHINGTON — (WMAL) Montgomery County Police will update the county’s public safety committee on plans to equip members of the police department with body cameras.

The committee was last updated on the pilot program this past spring.

Legal and technical issues at the state-wide level could have an impact on the implementation of the body camera program. Pending state policy could also cause issues.

The Maryland Police Training Commission is expected to nail-down state-wide policy on police body cameras by Jan. 1.
