NEW YORK — (CNN) Stephen Colbert, the next host of “The Late Show” on CBS, revealed who his first guest will be: George Clooney.”George Clooney will be my first-ever #LSSC guest on September 8th! Could one you let him know?” tweeted Colbert.Colbert, who cut his teeth as a former correspondent for “The Daily Show,” waited until Friday morning to break the news.

He spent Thursday night making one last appearance on “The Daily Show” with Jon Stewart, as Stewart signed off with his final episode.

“Is there a party or anything? I brought a lot of people from CBS,” quipped Colbert to Stewart.
