WASHINGTON — (WMAL) A snake found its way into the Naylor Road Metro station Tuesday morning.
It didn’t cause any delays, but it was a distraction to commuters at the station.
The five-foot long snake didn’t pose a threat to passers-by as it ate a bird in front of them.
Prince George’s County Animal Control stepped in to remove the pest with a pair of tongs and released it back into the woods.
Snakes can climb into the rafters above outdoor Metro stations to catch birds or eat their eggs.
In a press release, Metro spokesman Dan Stessel joked that “charges for fare evasion are pending” against the critter.
