MANCHESTER, NH — (CNN) Donald Trump returned to a favorite topic while campaigning Thursday night in New Hampshire: Jeb Bush.
The Republican presidential candidate has made no secret of the fact that he’s using his own riches to pay for his campaign and he took aim at Bush’s fundraising numbers, released Wednesday, showing that his campaign and super PAC raised a combined $114.4 million.
“He raises 100 million, so what does 100 million mean? 100 million means he’s doing favors for so many people, it means lobbyists, it means special interests, it means donors,” said Trump. “Who knows it better than me? I give to everybody. They do whatever I want. It’s true.”
Trump has faced questions about his own past political donations, including Democrats like Hillary Clinton. He commented on the candidate’s fundraising haul as well.
“Now Hillary raised 46 million. A lot of money. The good news is … how much do I have? 10 billion.”
Hundreds of supporters, crowded into a community center here, cheered at his comments, even as many of his opponents have said his rhetoric on immigration and Mexico is offensive and divisive.
Both Bush and Clinton have criticized his comments, but Trump fired back Thursday night.
“We’ve got people, their heads are being cut off by ISIS, we got nothing but crime pouring into the country, we got a mess of a country,” Trump said. “You have hundreds of people who are being shot and killed and Hillary said, ‘I don’t like his tone.'”
