WASHINGTON — (WMAL) Two Prince George’s County Police officers were injured in two days while trying to question people in cars.
Police are now looking for suspects in both cases.
26 -year-old Danny Lee Harvell of Temple Hills is wanted for attempted second degree murder of a police officer.
Wednesday around 5:30 p.m. two officers spotted Harvell, who was arrested on the Fourth of July for drug possession and attempted dealing, while patrolling an area of District Heights that has had a bunch of home break-ins recently.
When one of the officers came up to his car, Harvell tried to drive away.
The officer put his arm in the car’s window to stop Harvell who sped off anyway, dragging the officer for more than 100 yards.
The officer remains in the hospital being treated for a broken leg and may need surgery.
Early Thursday morning another officer tried to stop the driver of a stolen car in a gas station parking lot on Wheeler Road.
The driver sped off, hitting the officer as he went.
The officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and later released.
Police are also looking for the suspect in that case who is said to be driving a gold 2008 Subaru Outback.
It has D.C. tags DT2586.
